Notion on Mobile: What to Expect

The Notion mobile app (iOS/Android) is a companion, not a replacement for desktop. It excels at quick capture, reviewing, and light editing. For heavy database work, formula editing, or page design, use desktop or web.

Quick Capture: Never Lose an Idea

Add the Notion widget to your home screen pointing to an Inbox page. Use the Share Sheet (iOS) or Quick Actions tile (Android) to send content from any app. For fastest capture, use voice dictation — tap the microphone and speak directly into Notion.

Home Screen Widgets

iOS and Android widgets link to specific pages. Place an Inbox widget for one-tap idea capture. Place a Today's Tasks widget to see priorities without opening the app.

Offline Access

Recently viewed pages are cached offline. You cannot create new pages, edit databases, or sync changes while offline. Improved offline support is on Notion's roadmap but not yet available.

Mobile-Specific Tips

Swipe right on sidebar items to favorite them. Long-press pages for quick actions. Pull down to refresh databases. Use the floating + button for quick creation. On iOS, configure Back Tap (Settings → Accessibility → Touch) to open Notion with a double-tap.
