What is Notion & How to Use It
Notion is an all-in-one workspace that replaces separate tools for notes, tasks, wikis, and databases. You build pages out of blocks — text, images, to-do lists, tables, code, embeds, and more. Type / to add anything. Connect pages into databases to track projects, tasks, habits, or knowledge. It is free for personal use and works on web, desktop, and mobile.
Getting Started in 5 Minutes
From sign-up to your first productive workspace

Sign Up at notion.so
Use your email, Google account, or Apple ID. Students get the Pro plan free with a .edu email — unlimited file uploads and 30-day history. No credit card required.

Create Your First Page
Click + New Page in the left sidebar. Give it a title and start typing. Everything you write is a block — text, headings, lists, images, or embedded content.

Master the Slash
Master the Slash / Command
Press / on any empty line. This is your command palette. Try /h1 for headings, /todo for checklists, /table for databases, /image to add images.

Drag, Drop & Arrange
Hover over any block to see the six-dot handle (⋮⋮). Drag it to reorder. Drag blocks side by side to create columns. Use /divider to separate sections.

Try a Template
Click Templates in the sidebar. Browse thousands of free templates — task trackers, habit builders, note systems, project wikis. Duplicate one and make it yours.
